Bild.de: That’s why Tokio Hotel moved to America. “We had no home anymore.”

Through the monsoon, around the world: at the highest point of their success the “tokio hotel” - twins Bill and Tom (23) eft Germany - and moved to Los Angeles. tw
o years of silence. Now they are back in their homeland - as “Deutschland Sucht Den Superstar” judges! Tom and Bill gave BILD their first interview on the set of the talent show.

BILD: Already discovered today some talents?

Bill: “Yes, there were some good people there …” <!--more-->

Tom: “But no one who blew our minds. At least not today. “

BILD: How do you get along with Dieter Bohlen?

Bill: “We haven’t met dieter before, but have been looking forward to do with him the anniversary season of DSDS. We got along really well right away and have a lot of fun.”

BILD: You know the dark side of show business, which helps for sure at the casting, right?

Bill: “I have also seen candidates, about which I thought: “No, that’s just not your thing …”

Tom: “Those who just want to be famous, really annoy me. Being famous is just a side effect, if someone is really good at something. If you can’t do anything, you should not even be famous.”

BILD: Two years ago, you have left germany. How is your life in Los Angeles?

Bill: “We have now tried two years, quite consistently, to hide. We wanted a place where we can withdraw to have some privacy. We feel comfortable in LA, live together with our four dogs.”

BILD: Why you fled literally?

Tom: “We were just five years on the road non-stop, and had no more retreat. We really had the feeling that we have no home anymore - it was eventually not important where we sleep.”

BILD: A terrible feeling …

Tom: “Yes. eventually it got to the point where it was a bit too much and then we thought about it: Where can we ever go? and above all, we also wanted a place where we can finally be creative.”

BILD: … and record a new album?

Tom: “In LA we can simply record, relaxed, new music - that has brought us further, artistically. Some of this (songs) people will never hear, but some already.”

BILD: Is there already a date for a new album?

Tom: “That’s in the process. We won’t rush ourselves.”

BILD: Where do you feel at home today?

Bill: “Actually, always where our family is. Of course, our roots are in Germany, it always will be the feeling of home. But Tom and I can settle down anywhere fast.”

BILD: Bill, you’ve visually also changed quite a bit, the skeleton tattoo on your hand is so blatant …

Bill: “I’ve already started it early! I got my first piercing at 13, my first tattoo at 15. I’ve always loved tattoo, in past years I didn’t had much time to get new ones. now I design some new with a tattoo artist in LA”

BILD: You’ve got quite a lot muscles …

Bill (laughing): “You do what you can …”
