Breakup in Tokio Hotel?
Intrigue, stress and moving to USA. Now the rumour has it that Tokio Hotel are going in opposite directions.
From Germany to Los Angeles. In October last year, the Tokio Hotel-brothers Tom and Bill Kaulitz moved from the homeland Germany to Los Angeles. According to their manager David Jost, they moved to work with new songmaterial and meet new producers. – “The twins will move to a house in West Hollywood, but they’ll keep their home in Germany”, Jost said to the newspaper BILD during the moving. In addition, the band stated that they wanted to get peace and quiet and get awway from crazy fans. Many speculate whether the band will breakup, but Jost denies the rumour. – “Their band colleagues Georg and Gustav will stay in Germany because they’ve got girlfriends. And only for that reason.” Nevertheless, many people are amazed over their sudden move. Los Angeles is the wrong city to move to if you want to write new songs and get away from fans, according to many. – “The paparazzis here are more aggressive and their celebritystatus will only get bigger and bigger”, claims the newspaper BILD.
Shows up alone at events
But it’s not only the Kaulitz brothers move that’s created rumours about a possible breakup within the band. Lately the brothers has shown up alone at events without Georg and Gustav. From the beginning of Tokio Hotel, have the brothers of course had a stronger passion than their band colleagues and their popularity has just grown and grown. On different Tokio Hotel fanpages they only focus on the brothers and not on Gustav and Georg. This has got many fans to react. – “Bill and Tom move to USA because of crazy fans, while Gustav and Georg will stay in Germany? I don’t blame them, but I don’t think it’ll work”, a dedicated fan wrote on one of the bands forum. In addition, the brothers live together and because they show themselves alot without their kolleagues, the rumour about them being in a movie started. The German producer Christoph Gambl earlier this year published a detailed script of the movie “Die Räuber”, which the Kaulitz brothers apparently will play the leading roles in. In that case, Bill will get the role as Franz von Moor, while Tom get the role as Karl von Moor. The producer said following about why he wanted Bill and Tom: – “I searched after new ung actors in the age of 20 and read about the twins in an interview with Bill and Tom. That’s when I felt that the roles was meant for them.”
Open for soloprojects
When Topp met the guys in Olso, there were no doubts about who talked the most during the interview. When Topp asked questions to Gustav and Georg, it often happened that Tom or Bill answered immediately. This has also been the case in other interviews, which one can take as if the Kaulitz brothers may want to do their own thing. In addition, it’s also said that the brothers have a soloproject in mind. Tom has in several interviews talked about his big intress for hiphop-music and how much he’d like do work with it in the future. Bill on the other hand likes rock and many think Bill will do some kind of soloproject in the future. Max Dax, head of the music magazine Spex, also believe that Bill will go far, but without the other guys. – “Everything points at the fact that Bill could do it even bigger if he go solo. He’s an unique artist with a unique expression and a unique style. If he play his cards right, he could be the new David Bowie.”
Bill denies the rumours
Bill himself denies any rumour about intrigues within the band and whether Gustav and Georg often get lower priority. – “It’s the other way around, Gustav and Georg don’t mind it and are happy with not being in the spotlight as much as Tom and I. They look up to us and on the way we handle the media”, Bill said. When he was asked about a possible solo career, he denied it quickly. – “I’d never stop with Tokio Hotel. Of course, we’d like to take a break once in a while, but I could never imagine starting a project of my own in the spotlight. I never want to stop with Tokio Hotel!”
